Local Lifestyle
Edwards is known as the place “where the locals live” in Vail Valley. 82% of the land in Eagle County is public land, either National Forest or BLM (Bureau of Land Management), making Edwards a lovely place for nature and outdoor enthusiasts, and the locals channel this mountain spirit. Residents of Edwards enjoy all of the recreational opportunities the mountains, rivers, and open space have to offer, from skiing and fishing to horseback riding and even dog sledding in the winter. There are also more than a dozen golf courses near Edwards, and the elevation is perfect for making your drives go farther.
Once you head into town, Riverwalk continues the upscale tradition of Vail Valley by offering tons of budding shops, local bistros, a lively brewery, and community establishments. Edwards’ plush lodging and spa scene pairs excellent wine lists with mountainside pampering. Stop by Edwards Corner Farmer Market to support local agriculture and artists.
Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping
The main attraction in Edwards is definitely
Riverwalk. Riverwalk’s countless businesses offer something for everyone in the family, day and night. In the early morning hours, when the sun spills into the valley, make a stop at
Hovey and Harrison for a cup of coffee and a slice of fresh focaccia. Edwards’ delicacies don’t end at Hovey and Harrison, either.
E-Town offers a restaurant that feels like home — it’s a local gathering spot for events, community, and a family meal. Not far from E-Town is the
Drunken Goat, a place to reflect on “long sunsets and midsummer hikes” — and some very good bruschetta.
Things to Do
Edwards offers locals plenty of community events and locations to enjoy. The
Alpine Arts Center centers on all things art and features a gift shop and classes. In the spring and summertime,
Edwards Freedom Park is home to lacrosse, baseball, and soccer leagues and tournaments. The newly renovated
Sonnenalp Club is just one of many golfing options around Edwards, with a fitness facility, an excellent restaurant (
Harvest), and a pool complex. Sonnenalp has a variety of membership choices to suit all needs. In addition to Riverwalk, there is also the infamous
Riverwalk Theater, a cinema theater with a lo-fi cafe inside and dining options for your favorite summertime blockbuster hits.

Edwards offers diverse education options, from academically rigorous high schools to colleges. Edwards has created a school system that allows its residents to give back effectively and creatively to the community.
