Local Lifestyle
Avon’s residential areas include Mountainstar, a gated community that offers gorgeous views of Beaver Creek and unrivaled privacy; Arrowhead, a family-focused community that offers plenty of easily accessible amenities for locals; Bachelor Gulch; Beaver Creek, and more.
The Avon community is host to a thrilling array of social events, like concerts, art festivals and races, and a multitude of recreational opportunities, special events, parks, open spaces, and trails. There is a great mix of local shops, bars, and restaurants all around town. Nottingham Park offers summer activities for all like boating, fishing, walking, riding or relaxing, and catching a movie in the park. Celebrate the Fourth of July with Salute to the USA, which is the largest fireworks display in the Rockies.
During the winter, Avon really shines! Avon offers incredible centralized access to snow sports. The Gondola Express shuttle bus goes directly to the Avon Station, which allows riders to reach the Riverfront Express high-speed gondola into Beaver Creek Resort.

Gorsuch, founded over 50 years ago, is only a stone’s throw away at Beaver Creek, so enjoy this luxurious, resort-style ski-and-sea fashion hub. After a busy day in town or on the slopes, be sure to check out
Vin 48, the wine bar and restaurant that offers modern mountain cuisine and has been a local favorite since 2007.
Things to Do
For a yearly event celebrating fine visual arts, handcrafted goods, and artists who represent a wide range of skills, from printmaking and photography to ceramic and woodworking, check out the Avon Art Festival. The
Harry A. Nottingham Park offers a free outdoor
Lakeside Cinema. If you head over before the movie starts, be sure to stroll through the park and check out the public musical instruments near the Rec Center.

Avon Recreation Center offers plenty of activities and facilities like a fitness center, yoga studio, and a five-lane lap pool. Avon’s various offerings are incredibly family-friendly, including the
Flynn Creek Circus, which features aerial performance acts on ropes and trapezes. Who doesn’t love the circus?
Schools
Avon’s school system and the greater Highland County Schoolboard mostly serve younger grades, including a popular Montessori school.
