West Vail

The hip and trendy up-and-comer of the Vail Valley area.

Welcome to West Vail, CO

The hip and trendy up-and-comer of the Vail Valley area

West Vail is an eclectic residential area with timepiece styles from the ski wave during the ‘60s and ‘70s. West Vail also hosts new duplexes, condominiums, and townhomes, all of which harken back to the familiar cabin-style aesthetic the modern-day adventurer is accustomed to.

This popular residential area has a larger footprint than Vail Village and East Vail and is a wonderful location to appreciate the best the Valley has to offer. West Vail residents soak up the sunshine and alpine scenery on a daily basis. West Vail has convenient access to some of the area’s most enchanting skiing. It’s known as an excellent local place to buy property since daily conveniences are just a stone’s throw away.

What to Love

  • Convenient daily amenities

Local Lifestyle

The residents of West Vail enjoy a friendly, tight-knit community. The atmosphere in West Vail is laid-back and relaxed. Locals come together over their love of the finer things in life, like fresh powder, craft beer, and fresh, hot pizza. West Vail seems to embody the very spirit of Colorado. This sunny side of Vail has beautiful views of the Gore Mountain Range and excellent parks, including Donovan Park Pavilion and Stephens Dog Park.

Many of the developing projects in West Vail benefit the local community. West Vail Pass, for example, is a developing vegetated wildlife overpass on I-70. Like most parts of the greater Vail area, West Vail offers free public transportation directly to the area’s best attractions and amenities. Not that you’ll need to go far — West Vail has a booming business sector with two supermarkets, a hardware store, hotels for tourists, and many popular cafes and restaurants.

Dining, Entertainment, and Shopping

West Vail offers some of the area’s best casual dining. During the weekday, you can enjoy a delicious hot pie at Local Joe’s Pizza for takeout or delivery. Local Joe’s has been serving locals and visitors alike since 2008 and brings pizza to West Vail residents seven days a week, even during late-night hours.

If you head to the slopes yearly, be sure to head to Northside Kitchen Grab & Go, the skier’s fuel stop, for everything you need on the way there! Grab & Go has meals and other conveniences for the outdoorsman or woman on the go. Of course, the town’s true shining beacon is the Westside Cafe, which has specialized in bloody marys since day one. Westside’s bloody marys are an award-winning local legend, but their food is fantastic too, which makes this a great place to stop for an evening out.

Things to Do

West Vail residents are extreme outdoor enthusiasts. Locals and residents enjoy wonderful access to hiking and biking trails such as the North Trail, Trappers Run, Cortina Lane, Son of Middle Creek, and many more.

Schools

West Vail offers more residential areas and businesses than schools. However, because the valley provides incredible free public transportation, West Vail has access to the same wonderful schools in the Greater Vail area, grades pre-K through college.
